Seem like most marriages & relationships are one sided in my opinion...someone in the relationship will have to give up more of themself than the other person to make them happy and secure.... Why can't we just meet half way and try not to lose who we are to make the other person happy? You can't have a one sides convo... One person talking while the other listen... And can't force a person to talk when they don't want to... And you can NEVER blame everything on one person... ALL problems start from not addressing the issues at the beginning... These issues grow like trees... And the best way to kill a tree is by the roots...egos will kill any relationship...if your the talker then humble yourself and be the listener... You might hear what YOUR problem is...meet the person half way

o ok! i see where the title came from. But yea its a Peas song too. But i love this... VERY insightful! i totally agree. BUT! I do think there are couples that are more EQUAL than one sided.
sometimes I say Im sorry even when I did or said nothing wrong... because as im growing up I realize pride only poisons me. and the smile on his face when I apologize is priceless.. I love your words. Glad im not the only one who feels this.

I was watching a movie with someone I used to date. One of the actors suggested 'meeting halfway' to a couple, and the girl I was watching the movie with became upset. She said that it was the man's responsibility to 'come to her'. I found that opinion to be extremely selfish.
Later I found that she'd broken up with someone more recently. She said the relationship ended basically b/c she wasn't able to have her way in the relationship. Ironically, she's a person who's goal is to meet someone special. I guess as long as she doesn't have to be equally as special, she's get what she wants.
